TWENTY JAGUARS SHORTLISTED

6th October, 2016; Georgetown: Head Coach of the Golden Jaguars, Jamaal Shabazz, has named a twenty-man squad for the scheduled October 8, 2016 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) ScotiaBank 2016 Caribbean Men’s Cup Championship game against Suriname in Suriname.

The squad consists of 12 over-seas based players and features two goal keepers, six defenders, eight mid-fielders and four strikers. (please see complete list below)

The game, scheduled for the Andre Kamperveen Stadium at 16:30hrs, will be the first for the Golden Jaguars in the 3rd Round of the competition as they recommence their quest for the Gold Cup.

Following this game, the Golden Jaguars will battle the Reggae Boyz at the National Track and Field Facility, Leonora on the 11th October, 2016 beginning at 20:0hrs.

The team departs Guyana on Thursday, 6th October, 2016.

Prior to the team’s final practice session on the 5th October before departure, some members of the Council of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), visited them at the National Track and Field Facility, Leonora and offered words of encouragement. Leading the group was Wayne Forde – President; Brigadier Bruce Lovell (First Vice President) and Rawlston Adams (Second Vice President).

Prior to the team’s departure, a press conference will be held on Thursday, 6th October, 2016 at Signature Inn Hotel, Laluni Street, Queenstown at 10:30hrs.
