– Tucville Ground to be the new venue; Top goal scorer to feature

4th March, 2017; Georgetown: Games in the Stag Elite League (Season Two) continue this Friday, May 5 at the Tucville Ground, Georgetown instead of the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground, Linden, which was originally scheduled. This change was necessary as a result of the MSC pitch being damaged during a recently held activity.

The schedule however, remains the same with GDF FC vs Monedderlust FC at 18:30hrs and Top XX FC vs Victoria Kings FC at 21:00hrs.

This double-header will be Matches 24 and 25 of a 30-match league with 76 goals scored to date for the 2016/17 season. Sherwyn Ceasar from the GDF FC and Eon Alleyne from Fruta Conquerors FC are the lead goal scorers with six (6) goals each.

This is followed by Delroy Fraser (GDF FC) with five goals; Olvis Mitchell (GDF FC), Jermine Junor (Fruta Conquerors FC) and Dillon Wright (Buxton United FC) have four goals each. Among those with three goals are Jeffrey Pereira (GDF FC), Kwamie La Fleur (Fruta Conquerors FC), Denvor Dennis (Buxton United FC) and Terrence Aaron (Top XX FC) respectively.

Seven players have two goals and 21 players have one goal each. (Please see detailed goal scorers attached)

Leading the points table are GDF FC with 21 points followed by Fruta Conquerors with 19 points. Monedderlust FC is at the base with three points.

The Stag Elite League is the senior league of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and seeks to, among others, provide a space for consistent and competitive engagement of footballers while facilitating disciplined players of a high technical and tactical ability, to be identified and or selected for national duties.

Among the prizes of the season are:

1st Prize          –          Six Million Dollars ($6,000,000.00)

2nd Prize          –          Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00)

3rd Prize           –          Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00)

4th Prize           –          One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00)

The overall league Champion and Runner-up Clubs will be awarded automatic qualifying spots at the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Championships.

Patrons will be given a chance to win fabulous prizes including family meals compliments of Church’s Chicken, jerseys / caps compliments of Jialing, Impressions and the Guyana Football Federation, and cash vouchers and Gilette hampers compliments of Ansa Mc Al. The grand patron prize will be a JIALING 250cc motorcycle compliments of Automobile Power Products.  Admission to each game is GYD$500.00
