INAUGURAL EDITION OF GFF’S TELEVISION PROGRAMME TO BE AIRED TOMORROW

11th November, Georgetown: The first edition of the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) television programme will be broadcast tomorrow via the National Communications Network (NCN) at 11:00hrs.

The one-hour programme – EXTRATIME TV – will be a weekly production, which seeks to inform and educate the public about the work of the GFF including policies, strategies and programmes, while affording prominence to the human aspect of the game It also seeks to diversify the football audience to non-traditional sectors.

President of the GFF, Wayne Forde, said the programme is a proud accomplishment of the Council and is part of its strategic mandate: “The tremendous effort and time that went into making this programme a reality is a further demonstration of the Council’s firm commitment to transparency and accountability. The GFF has a weekly publication in the Guyana Chronicle Newspapers and now a one-hour television show, arguably for the very first time in Guyana’s football history. We are very proud of these accomplishments and will use these two outlets to give a voice to our players, sponsors, stakeholders and fans.”

The programme will take the format of news and features and the first episode will feature a profile of the GFF, an exclusive interview with President Wayne Forde on his journey to the helm of the GFF and news.

Linden’s 104.3FM’s radio broadcaster Keeran Gray will be the host. Gray produces and presents “Power Up Your Morning Show” and “Gray Matter,” the latter being a social commentary programme. He is also a passionate football fan and a former Secretary of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA). Gray is a Social Worker by profession and a former United Nations Volunteer.

This programme follows a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the GFF and NCN on October 27, 2017.
