17th February, 2018, Georgetown: The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) will participate in the second edition of the FIFA Executive Summit scheduled for Lagos, Nigeria on the 20th February, 2018 where President Wayne Forde will make a 15-minute presentation on Guyana’s FIFA Forward Programme.

The presentation will highlight the progress of the Providence Forward programme and the efforts being made by the GFF to align its Governance and compliance policies and strategies with that of FIFA.

“For Guyana to be afforded an opportunity to showcase its programmes and strategies at such a global football forum is indeed remarkable and humbling. I am very proud of the fraternity and the progress we have made as a Federation in the implementation of a solid development strategy, which has spawned this opportunity. This truly is a proud moment for the football family,” Forde said in an invited comment before departure.

According to a FIFA correspondence, among the key topics for discussion, as proposed by the Member Associations are: FIFA Forward Programme – Looking ahead to the next cycle; The Future Of FIFA’s Youth, Women’s and Club Competitions; How To Improve The Transfer System And The International Match Calendar and FIFA’s Priorities. There will also be small group discussions “to give Member Associations an optimal platform to make their voice and ideas heard on FIFA’s strategic topics, which will shape the future of both FIFA as an organisation and football as a Sport”.

The summit, aimed at strengthening dialogue / bridging the gap between FIFA and its Member Associations, will be attended by FIFA’s President, Gianni Infantino; FIFA Council members, the FIFA Secretary General and representatives of the FIFA administration and Presidents / General Secretaries from Member Associations.

This is the second occasion that President Forde will be presenting Guyana’s Development Strategy to the football world, the first being the youth development strategy at the XXXII Ordinary CONCACAF Congress held in Aruba in 2016
