5th February, 2016; Georgetown: The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) will officially launch its Elite League Finale on Saturday, 6th February, 2016.
This event will be held at the Federation’s boardroom at 09:30hrs and will feature representatives from the GFF, including President Wayne Forde, and Ansa Mc Al Trading, under the STAG Beer brand, the official sponsor.
The STAG Elite League Finale will officially begin on the 12th February, 2016 and will run for approximately three (3) months, concluding on the 23rd May, 2016. The competition will consist of the following teams, in no particular order:
• Slingerz FC
• Pele FC
• Alpha United FC
• Fruta Conquerors FC
• Guyana Defense Force FC
• Buxton United FC
• Guyana Football Club (GFC)
• Monedderlust FC
The league will open with a double-header on the 12th February, 2016 at the GDF ground, Camp Ayanganna. At 17:30hrs, Slingerz FC will face off with Pele FC while Alpha United will clash with Fruta Conquerors at 20:00hrs. (Please see fixture schedule attached).
The STAG Elite League Finale is the second phase of a two-part tournament, which was initiated in September 2015 with the League Genesis.
The League Genesis and League Finalé winners will then meet in a single championship game at the end of the season to determine the overall season’s champion.
