GOLDEN JAGUARS’ TRAINING CONTINUES

National Senior Men’s Team – the Golden Jaguars – at the commencement of their training session

The Golden Jaguars continued their preparation for the International Friendly against Grenada on October 7 in Grenada

Training was done at GDF Ground, Camp Ayanganna on Monday, 25th Sept

President Wayne Forde geared up and trained with the team under the guidance of Interim Head Coach Wayne Dover, Interim Assistant Coach Bryan Joseph and Goalkeeping Coach Eon Deviera

Following training, Forde addressed the players and made the following points:

1. Construction of the Guyana Training Centre – This will commence shortly. It will be a state-of-the-art facility and will be the home for football development in Guyana – from youth to senior. It will have facilities for housing, gym, kitchen, pool etc to cater to needs of footballers. Teams should be encamped for longer periods

2. FIFA has approved GFF’s “contract of approved objectives”. This will see one synthetic turf being constructed in every Regional Member Association (RMAs)

3. Camp preparation – All travel refunds will be paid

4. Charity Match – Match will be held in conjunction with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs on Sunday, 1st October to aid persons affected by Hurricane Irma. All proceeds will go towards hurricane victims’ relief via the CFU

MATCH 1: GFF’s U17 girls vs an Indigenous All-stars team @ 16:00hrs

MATCH 2: GFF’s President’s Eleven vs an Indigenous All-Stars team @18:00hrs

5. Elite League will begin in October.

6. To ensure the national players remain active, the GFF is exploring a game with the Suriname u23 team as part of the developmental process. A game is also in the pipeline for the Nicaragua national team, more details will be forthcoming. The GFF will seek to engage the national team at every FIFA-window
