17th February, 2016; Georgetown: Head Coach of the Men’s National Team (Golden Jaguars), Jamaal Shabazz, has named a twenty-five (25)-man list to face off Suriname in an International Friendly scheduled for this weekend at the Guyana National Stadium.
The team consists of three (3) goal keepers, eight (8) defenders, ten (10) mid-fielders and four (4) strikers. It also features the return of Gregory “Jackie Chan” Richardson to the national squad.
Sunday’s event will see a preliminary showdown between the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) All-stars versus Georgetown Football Association (GFA) All-Stars at 18:00hrs with the feature game, Golden Jaguars vs Suriname national team at 20:30hrs.
This match is a warm-up for the Golden Jaguars in preparation for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Caribbean Cup tournament scheduled for 21st – 29 March.
The team is encamped from the 16th – 22nd February. The Surinamese are expected on Saturday, 20th February, 2016.
For game day, regular tickets are being sold at $1,500, VIP tickets at $5,000 and booths are being sold at $80,000. Booth cost include the ability to have a maximum of twenty (20) persons, six (6) car passes and food and drinks being brought to the ground.
