POST-MATCH COMMENTS:

“First thing: I wish to thank God for this victory. We deserve the six points because we worked hard to get ourselves in shape. As you can see the players understand the formation of the play now because we trained to score goals as that was our downfall in the last few games and we’re getting it right now. Next thing, the players have been working hard as we know the importance of this league. In the training session I always tell them, we have to win the league and that’s what we’re working towards to, to come out first in this league.” Winston Pompey – HEAD COACH, VICTORIA KINGS FC

“I’m not pleased with the performance of my team so far in the past two games in the elite league because I’m confident my team can play better football than this. We have shown it before but I guess  the morale of the players need to be boosted some more. The players need to show a little more aggression and commitment to this level of football. We have some young players – about 16 – 17 years old – breaking into this level of football but still, it is all about commitment. They need to up their standard, up their level; up their morale and the team will play a better football. They have shown it in the first half but the second half was where the problems came. We also have a lot of work to do in the goal keeping area because that is what is killing us so far in the two games.” Phillip Carrington – HEAD COACH, COUGARS FC

“The game wasn’t a bad game for us because we knew we could have got a victory today as we have been working whole week so we could have won the game. Concerning my personal performance, some people say I’m old but as much as I may be forty or so, I still try my best and go out there as I want the team to be successful and enable the team to go forward and play better. We have some good youngsters coming up but as a senior, I’m still looking forward to the team to be good in this tournament so I try my best to work hard and work with the team so we could be better.” Aubrey Gibson – STRIKER, VICTORIA KINGS FC

“I think it was a good game, kudos to the winning team but I have a problem with the officiating in this competition because my players are young and some of them inexperienced. For me the score line didn’t say how good we played but we still have some little things to do especially tactically so we’ll return the training field and try to put it right.” Hubert Mc Pherson – HEAD COACH, BUXTON UNITED FC

“The boys on the team today played up to scratch. We played how we trained to play and we’re going from strength to strength taking it one game at a time. I’m really satisfied with the performance of the team, and we’re on to the next one.” O’niel Yearwood – HEAD COACH, DEN AMSTEL FC
