Congratulations to Paiwomak and GDF, who won their semi-finals in the GFF National Women’s Development League at Tucville Ground today. GDF women beat St. Ignatius women in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out (2-0) after the match had ended 2-2 following extra time, with a brace from GDF’s Aboecie Heywood and one apiece for St. Ignatius’ Vanessa Scipio and Sonia Griffith.
Paiwomak saw off Fruta Conquerors women 2-1 in the second tie, with two goals from star player Samantha Roberts. Conquerors’ Natalie Nedd also got on the score sheet.
GDF women and Paiwomak will play for the inaugural Women’s Development League title on Sunday, 12th March, as part of a double header at the GDF ground with the final of the Stag Elite League Leaders Tournament between GDF and Fruta Conquerors.
