GUYANA OBSERVES CONCACAF WOMEN’S DAY 2016

20th May, 2016; Georgetown: The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) will participate in the second annual CONCACAF Women’s Football Day to be observed on Saturday, 21st May, 2016 at the Wisburg Secondary School Ground, Linden.

The one-day event, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30hrs, will feature a brief opening ceremony, 5-A-Side football from 11 all-female teams from Regions 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 and a post-match presentation ceremony. Official kick-off is scheduled for 11:00hrs.

The opening ceremony will feature remarks from Ms. Diedre Davis, General Secretary (GFF); Ms. Charmine Wade, President of the National Women’s Football Association (NWFA); Mr. Sharma Solomon, President of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) and Ms. Waneka Arrindell (Deputy Mayor, Linden Municipality). Opening ceremony will be chaired by Ms. Vanessa Kissoon, Former Member of Parliament.
